Poor Dublin Boy

A poor Dublin boy they said
Could never make it through
The water and bread
Desecrated by so many years
Of famine and foreign hostility
Bloodshed and salty tears
Spread across his homeland
Cretins with powers never seen
In his time from the chrome land
A poor Dublin boy they said
Always forgave but never forgot
Thoughts of revenge
Haunted him for years on end
Until he crossed to the cretins land
And finally saw them as friends.
