I'm fascinated by the application of modern military technology. I'm particularly impressed by avionics. The F-35, for instance, is a masterpiece. People probably wonder why our government spends so much tax money on such things. Why not? I think the average person is fearful that all this advanced weaponry is bound to be used in actual combat. The reality is it probably will not be. In today's world, most of this is merely a competition to see which nation has the coolest gadgets. It's all a facade based in deterrence.
