Thought of the Day

I'm perplexed when people claim the SAT is culturally biased. Math is universal. It has no cultural element. As far as the verbal portion of the SAT, well, every student in the U.S., at least those in public school, goes through essentially the same curriculum, especially since the adoption of Common Core. The curriculum covers authors from every conceivable demographic. Where is the cultural bias? The SAT, or any standardized test for that matter, may not be a good way of measuring intelligence and preparedness for college, but there's no legitimate argument for it being culturally biased.
