A Room Up In Heaven

Wandering...
Through the depths of my soul
Something takes hold of me
I see a room full of my greatest influences
Having a conversation in heaven
2Pac, Jay-Z, Eddie Vedder, Salvador Dali, Ansel Adams
Black Thought, Kurt Cobain, Frank Lloyd Wright
And a handful of others
And I wonder...

With all their success
Do they still feel pain?
Have they fulfilled all their dreams?
Then I enter the room
And their eyes turn to me

"What brings you here, stranger?"
They ask
"I want to know something, have you found God here?"
They look at me funny
"We haven't seen him yet, I guess he still has work to do on Earth."
I scratch my head
"So why are you all here if you don't get to see him?"
I ask
"Because it gives us time to think and share ideas,"
They reply
"Soon we'll go back down to Earth and continue His work,
now sit your ass down and watch the show."
