Thought of the Day
The political right has long advocated lower taxes for the wealthy as part of what they call "trickle-down" economics. The main idea is lower taxes for the rich will allot extra income for them to invest in small businesses, thereby creating new jobs (read: doing the lower and middle-classes a favor). How many rich guys do you know who got to where they are by "lending a hand" or who are motivated to do so when it doesn't serve their self-interest? As Bill "Sax-Machine" Clinton demonstrated in his 2012 DNC speech, the GOP's "trickle-down" effect has produced fewer jobs than the Dems' model over the last 50 years. I think it's pretty obvious the haves aren't interested in their money "trickling down" to the have-nots.
