Brandon Tatum re: white guilt
Brandon is a former police officer, YouTuber, and pundit who occasionally appears on cable news
* I don't agree with all of Brandon's views (he dismisses white privilege at a systematic level in one video, which I think is absurd and naive), but I do in this case.

This doesn't necessarily pertain to this topic, but one
thing about Brandon that's important to note is he played football at Univ. of
Arizona on a full scholarship (he mentions blacks and whites playing football
together in this video). As someone who's played team sports for a lifetime,
almost universally, athletes are less concerned about racism and have better
insight about race than non-athletes. The reason is athletics, especially at a
high level, are the closest thing we have to a true meritocracy. In all other
pursuits and professions, there are elements of identity politics that
influence relationships, perspectives, and success. Rarely will you hear professional
athletes complaining about racism or oppression, or talking about it at all.
The NFL players protesting the anthem/flag are a very, very small minority, and
the Donald Sterling fiasco is an anomaly as well. In team sports, you learn
from an early age you need to get along with everyone to succeed as a group,
and that there are no excuses for being less successful than others on an
individual level, because your performance is measurable and results are all
that matters. Whether publicly or privately, I think active or former athletes
are more politically conservative than the average American. In football this
is almost always the case because most players are country boys and practicing
Christians. You'll notice most SJWs are over-intellectualized, ineffectual
dorks who look like they've never picked up a ball or entered a gym (that's not
to say education/intelligence isn't important, but common sense is more
important). At UC-Berkeley, which is about as far left as you're gonna get, I
doubt you're gonna see members of the football team or the women's basketball
team at a protest (well, maybe you'll see some of the women's basketball
players at an LGBTQ+ rally lol, which is all good). I'll finish by saying this:
almost all of the guys I played football, basketball, and baseball with in HS,
and baseball in college, whether white, black, Latino, Asian, etc. NEVER had a
dispute about race, privilege, gender, sexual orientation, politics, etc., on
the field/court or off. We were too busy working hard and having fun and
learning from one another. We loved guns, hunting, fishing, beer, women, and
America, all elements of what the leftists consider toxic masculinity. Peace
and Buddha be with you.
