Is there any reasoning with people who are afraid of the ocean, yet they will drive a motor vehicle? For that matter, is there any reasoning with people who avoid situations and activities with an extraordinarily low probability of injury or death, yet they will drive a motor vehicle? It amazes me that many people tend to base their choices and preferences on emotion, rather than reason.
