Thought of the Day

Considering society conditions us from birth to correlate self-value with personal wealth, I'm not at all surprised by the droves of maladjusted and depressed adults mindlessly plugging away at their ineffectual jobs in a 40-year pursuit to reach the top of the corporate ladder. The earlier in life you stop giving a fuck about keeping up with the Joneses, the easier you're going to be able to attain true happiness. The truth is, even though Mr. Jones has an S-Class, a vacation home in Martha's Vinyard, and an impressive stock portfolio, he's still miserable as fuck because his trophy wife is cheating on him and if he divorces her he'll lose half of everything he's worked so hard for. On top of that, he'll have plenty of money to retire in five years and pursue his dream of spelunking the world's 100 largest caves, but he can't because the youngest of his three kids is only eight, so it will be ten more years until he can send her off to college and no longer be tied down to his suburban neighborhood. So turn on, tune in, and drop out because there's no sense in being like Mr. Jones' cranky ass.
