New Yorkers take pride in their city's nickname, "The City That Never Sleeps." They don't seem to realize this moniker doesn't make New York unique or edgy as it is attributable to any city, town, or hamlet. A city is inanimate. It cannot sleep, whether it's New York, Amsterdam, Mumbai, or Bedrock.
