I think American culture reached its pinnacle in the 80's. Hip-hop was introduced to the masses, hair metal ruled the airwaves, everyone wore spandex, for some reason being a coke head was acceptable, Miami Vice was a hit, a Hollywood actor was President, and of course, there was Rick Astley.
