A Poem I Once Wrote
There was a poem I once wrote
From which great thinkers would quote
And ponder its meaning
All through the morning
And into the evening.
There was a poem I once wrote
I think it was about euthanasia
Or maybe it was about the youth in Asia
I recited it to a man in Guam
And he thought it was about the feeling
Of having the world in your palm.
There was a poem I once wrote
It took me seven days and seven nights
I wrote it while on mushrooms
In a long hallway full of neon lights
That emitted a cacophony of sonic booms
And somehow assuaged my fear
Of all the world's glooms.
