Do Yourself a Favor, Listen to The Roots Damnit
The lyrics to The Roots' song, "Why (What's Going On?)," speak for themselves. I posted the lyrics to this song below because it has always been one of my favorite Roots tracks. You can feel its message in your guts and your heart as it has a powerful relevance to the steadily devolving world around us. Too many people, especially in America, are too busy pursuing fruitless merits to take a minute and think about where they are heading. The difference between right and wrong, real and fake, truth and falsehood, is becoming increasingly more difficult to distinguish in the complex world we live in. A friend of mine once said that Americans won't believe anything until they see it on TV. This was insightful, but the truth is you shouldn't believe half of what you see on TV (and by TV, I'm particularly referring to the news). Keep an open mind, think freely, and do what you can to deprogram yourself from the system. If my life journey has taught me anything it's to be sceptical of the status quo.
