I often wonder why religious people look to God for reassurance and fulfillment. If they took the time to think about it, they would realize believing in the Big Bang is more reassuring and fulfilling than paying homage to an almighty Creator. Consider this: if you watched an incredibly fast time-elapsed reverse recording of all the matter in the universe, you would observe everything that has ever existed, both organic and inorganic, converge into one single conglomeration of star stuff. In essence, everything out there is you and you are everything out there. What could be more reassuring and fulfilling than that? I guess you could throw a twist on it and say some omniscient, mystical being decided to make that all happen. To each his own.
