Thought of the Day
It would be hilarious if the downfall of mankind was a freak genetic mutation that eliminated the x chromosome from all male gametes. Just imagine the widespread panic as the world population rapidly went from a 1:1 to 1:0 ratio of males to females. In about 100 to 140 years there wouldn't be a single female left on Earth. How would the remaining all male population react? Would scientists continue their attempts to fix the genetic mutation? After all, no one man would know for sure if there were any women left. Men would be scouring the globe looking for humanity's last reproductive hope in case the mutation was corrected. They'd be like the characters in Waterworld searching for Dryland. Do you think they would organize some sort of international census party to keep official records of everyone's efforts to find relict women? Would someone start a website, "ProjectOvaryRecovery.com," to help spread information on the search? In all likelihood, I think men would be so sexually frustrated from about four generations of increasingly scarce reproductive opportunities that most would go on genocidal rampages while the rest sat around and got wasted.
