I've recently discovered that the most terrifying moment in a man's life must be what I call the "hair loss moment." This is the first time a man realizes he's balding. The other day, while looking in the mirror, I noticed I could faintly see small portions of scalp through the hair on the top-back of my head. My heart briefly stopped until I was relieved to find the "hair loss moment" was a false alarm. The angle of my head and the unkempt cowlick in that area of my scalp created the illusion of thinning hair. Hopefully, this continues to be the case until I'm very old.
