Thought of the Day

Airports need to devise a more efficient way of managing traffic in the baggage claim lanes. The whole system is out of control. There are never enough waiting spaces for the volume of cars coming in, and when you do find a space, there is usually some overzealous airport security person who forces you to move along if the person you're picking up isn't there. Then you have to leave the baggage claim area, go back onto the highway or main road, and circle around and repeat the process over again. And if you park on the shoulder of the "baggage claim loop" to wait until the person you're picking up calls you, then you're subject to getting a ticket for violating traffic laws. Some airports have built "cell phone waiting lots" to account for this problem, but the lots are always somewhere out on the loop instead of right next to the baggage claim lanes. Why can't they put them next to the baggage claim lanes instead of having some massive long-term parking garage or train station or hotel?
